Challenge No 8......'Let's Get Shabby'......

Challenge No 8......'Lets Get Shabby'........

Omgoodness Challenge No 8 at Lets get shabby......How quickly the time has flown......
As you all know I just adore this site and love the inspiring challenges month to month.......
Challenge No 8 was to use 'love letters or little notes' in your project......Perfect for me as I am one of the lucky ones to have an endless supply of love letters and notes from dh before we were even married......He use to have to go away for weeks on end and each and every week I would recieve these letters.....Of course way back then they always meant so much to me BUT these days they actually mean the world.......I have had them stored in an old chocolate box for over 30 years (and dig them out from time to time!!!!!!) so decided because they really mean so much that I would make them all a special envelope to store them in.... I hope that one day the kids will find them all and know just how much we loved and adored each other......

I cut out an envelope shape onto some 7gypsies p/p then mounted this onto to some cardstock. To make it even more stable I painted with a few coats of modge podge (and love how it is now hard and shiny!!!!!!)......I then decorated and tied it closed with some gingham.......and so my 'Love Letters' envelope was born.......
This is the front of the envelope.......
This is the envelope opened up to show where the letters will be stored.....
A close up view.......
Another close up view......

Thanks for such a wonderful challenge and the chance for me to reminisce once again.........
Cheers till next time.......
Take care....

Scrapville sketch challenge.......

This is my entry into the 'Scrapville' Sketch Challenge.......The sketch was designed by the very talented Melinda.....I turned it around to suit my photo and am more than happy with the end results.........Funny thing though that now I look at it, it doesnt really look a lot like the sketch BUT guess thats really what they are all about 'your own interpretation'........

Tonight LSBS are announcing another year full of challenges......

Look forward to seeing what they have in store for us as I so enjoyed the 52 week challenge from last year and miss my sundays!!!!!!
It sure is worth a look.......

I have had a fairly quiet weekend, just relaxing really as it is still way to hot to do much at all....
This morning I had a very long chat with the gorgeous Clare in England.....It was so nice to catch up with her and even though I dont know her in real life I feel like I do !!!!!! She is such an angel........
Take care and until next time.....

Winner of Challenge No 5 at LSBS......

Well to say I was surprised would be an understatement BUT I can proudly say I won Challenge No 5 over at LSBS Jan CC........There were so many wonderful inspiring entries in all the challenges this month that the DT would have had a very hard time deciding all the winners......
Challenge No 5 was set by Tracy and we had to use a photo or photo's of someone feeling 'free'....
This photo was of little Lachie and Ryder playing in the pool out the back and they both just love it so thought the photo suited the challenge quiet well....We also had to just use the eye for placement and to not use a ruler (which was an easy challenge for me as I never do anyway!!!!!!)
I love how this turned out.....

Cheers till next time...
Take care...

January CC at LSBS.......

Well its been another great CC over at LSBS.....I managed to complete 4 of the 6 challenges so pretty pleased with that effort.......The theme this month was 'Freestyle'.....Here is what I managed to create......
This was Challenge No 1 'Sketch' challenge set by Belle.......
I changed mine around a little but hey thats what sketches are for right!!!!!
This is Erin and Ben on their wedding day and I am happy with the end result....

The next is Challenge 1a 'Card Sketch' which Nic set for us this time around......We had to make a set of 4 cards using only 1 sheet of double sided p/p. I actually thought that this would be a little difficult BUT it wasnt really and this is what I came up with......

Challenge No 2 was Kerryn's 'paint stripe' challenge......
I loved this and have used it before but its just so effective......Loved this piccy of little Ryder.....

Challenge No 5 'Free to be me' by Tracy with no measuring and no ruler etc...I found this really easy to do as I never measure anyway........We also had to use a photo that showed someone being 'free' and this is of my 2 munchkins having heaps of fun in the pool....They love it.....I used bits and pieces left over and then just trimmed them off and went from there.....Happy as with how this one turned out.......

Well in other news not too much is happening.....
First week back at work was a bit hard to take BUT after a few days it feels like I have been back for weeks!!!!!! I am just about to start selling my cards there so just getting them all organised and ready for that.....
We had 'family' dinner at Erin and Bens this week on Saturday night......It was just the best night and we were all 'stuffed' from all the swimming!!!!!! (yep even the big mumma got in!!!!) Saturday was 39* and today monday is only 15* (go figure!!!!!!)......Its a lovely cool change though and I may just be able to have a day doing housework and not be dripping wet!!!!!

I have also had a couple more layouts accepted for publication so pretty chuffed about that........

I will leave now with a couple of layouts that i did through the week...........

Till next time, Cheers.....
Hope everyone has a great week......

HAPPY NEW YEAR......

Well I can hardly believe its 2010 and that this is my first post for the new year!!!!!
Hope this isnt an indication of how quick the year will go!!!!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy 2010.

I have been quiet busy myself as I decided to have a declutter while on holidays..I have been through every cupboard in the house and even though some decisions were hard I did it!!!! Some boxes I have had still packed with each move we have done BUT I was ruthless and used my dining room as storage for numerous bits and pieces to put out for a garage sale....It took me forever and as I knew the scrapping room would be the worst and hardest I left it till last.....Two days and Two nights later I had done it and had box upon box of unwanted goodies. Today we had the sale and I am just amazed at how much we sold... We made a nice tidy little sum so I am going to buy a new flat screen tv for my room and we are putting the rest towards a holiday....I am now determined to only buy scrapping goodies that I will actually use and not just think I will!!!!!!!
I had some super good news last week....
I recieved a copy of ''Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft' with some of my cards in it......then while shopping I decided to pick up a copy of 'Scrapbook Creations' as I knew I had a layout about to be published and to my surprise yes it was in this copy BUT there were also 2 other layouts, so 3 in the one issue.......Totally wrapped.......

I have managed to do a few layouts in the new year though so happy that.....
This is yet another one of the gorgeous Ryder.....

And this is my beautiful youngest dd Ashley........I used my new I top brad maker (loving this little beauty!!!!)

Again Happy New Year everyone..
Cheers

CHALLENGE NO 7.......'LET'S GET SHABBY'.......

Challenge No 7 at 'Let's get Shabby'............
Wow I so loved this challenge............
We had to take inspiration from this picture (which is awesome by the way!!!!)
and I instantly knew what I wanted to create.....My inspiration came from the colours firstly and then I just loved the umbrella and the whole beachy scene........So this is what I came up with.......
I have used Kraft cardstock and some lovely sass lass p/p's....The umbrella was cut from a piece of the pp then I used some brown string to make the handle and secured this with a brad....I mounted the photo on some brown cardstock which I ran through the cuttlebug with swiss dots folder then mounted again on some corrugated card as it all matched the sand in the photo so well.......Lastly I added some embellies and tied a bow with some 'vintage' tickets ........
The DT's examples were such a great inspiration as well......
'Our beach angel'........
Thanks for another great challenge and thanks heaps for looking........
Cheers
