Long Weekends come and go!!!!!!

Not sure if you are like me BUT when I know long weekends are coming around I plan all sorts of stuff that I am going to do BUT it just never happens that way....
Friday night we took the little people to the local show which they just loved....Its actually good they are still quiet small as a ride here and there is simply enough for them.  They loved to just look at all that was going on around them..The looks on the little faces is just priceless!!!! Would of liked to stay for the fireworks but they were on way too late.
Saturday was just a total waste day really..I had to do a few things in town, had some visitors so by that time I decided the only thing I wanted to do was to scrap, so I did and I found inspiration from Helen over at ST who set a few challenges for WCMD.  Her is what I managed to create:
Challenge 1 was to use the sketch as inspiration. It was a nice simple sketch and this is what I came up with....I was happ with how my handmade flowers turned out.... :-)

Challenge 2 was to to make 2 or more Christmas cards....Yay I have now made a start.... I just love the beautiful MME chrissy papers......

I have a few projects on the go and will be able to share soon......
I woke up this morning and found out over at Scrap Therapy that I had won the Card Sketch for the Sept CC........Yay!!!!  A little shopping never goes astry!!!!!Her is another look at the cards I made.....Thanks to all who voted!!!! :-)

Well I am about to tackle some long awaited housework then hopefully I can scrap the afternoon away.....
Hope everyone has a great week....
Take care..

'Kraft it up' September monthly challenge.....

September monthly challenge at 'Kraft it up' was so inspiring this month.  I wasnt sure I would be able to finish in time BUT I did and happy with the end results....
I LOVE this site and the team are all so inspiring....
I have scrapped these photos before BUT am lucky that I am doing an album for my DD so if I want can always do it again for me!!!!

We had to take inspiration from this picture.......

I instantly saw the red and the banner so this is where my inspiration came from...
Here is my layout.....
I have used Kraft as my base then swished some cream paint as a background for the photos.  I then stitched around for a border.  I made the banner by punching out some circles then folding in half.  I made the flowers from scraps of paper using my scalloped punch.....

Thanks KIU for a great challenge...
Thanks heaps for looking.....
Have a great week...

A weekend away!!!!

Wow I have just had the greatest weekend away at the 'Scrapville' retreat at the Hume Resort just out of Albury.   It was a wonderful 3 days and I got to spend some quality time with my partner in crime 'Melinda'...It is always great to catch up with her and we always come away with lots of aching parts from too much laughter....Our table was just the bestest and it was lovely to catch up with and meet new friends.  I had met Sally before BUT this weekend I really got to know her and just love her to bits.....I also shared the table with 2 very talented ladies in Anthea and Sam.   What a great weekend.  Janet certainly out did herself as the venue was spot on and she literally did take the whole shop with lots of new goodies making their appearance.  The accommodation was awesome and the meals were always yummo!!!! (just a shame about the roast and the gravy incident!!!!) but it all worked out in the end.....
I did my first ever class which I was happy with and a big thankyou to Sally for helping me out....:-)...
I didnt manage to do a great deal (too much fun happening!!!) but will share with you what I did manage to create....

Firstly this was the class I taught and I must say I had a wonderful group of ladies who loved what they came up with.... Its an altered frame with a photo attached that can be updated each year....They loved learning how to do the fabric flowers.....

It was lovely just to sit and create what I wanted with no pressures and this is what I managed for the weekend....
This one is of Ryder enjoying a toffee apple...(much to his mum's dismay!!!! lol)

This is of the gorgeous 'miss Evie' a couple of weeks ago at the park.....

Another of little Ryder also at the park a couple of weeks ago.....

I also did one of the classes at retreat.....Sally's tri-fold cards BUT the camera decided to go flat just as I was taking all these photos so will take one asap.....
Ok till next time...
Take care...

So here is my creation.....

And here are a couple of close shots.....

A wonderful week....

Well I have just had the most wonderful week with my gorgeous friend Lisa and her 2 little girls come to visit..  It was just lovely... The weather was not so kind BUT we managed to do a few little trips and the company was just the bestest.....
Last weekend was the CC over at 'Scrap Therapy' where I finally managed to do 3 of the challenges....
The first was the challenge set by Helen (the card queen).   It was a lovely sketch and this is my take ...

The next challenge was set by Lisa and we had to use some fabric and do some stitching...I love this photo of my eldest DD and her hubby on their wedding day....

And the 3rd challenge I managed to complete was by Allie and it was a bowerbird challenge which saw us create a layout using a list of things to use..... Love this photo of Ryder in the bath.....

I cant wait for the next one now....

My gorgeous friend Clare from the UK gave me this little award last week and it made my day....Thankyou Clare...... :-)

I recieved some yummy scrappy goodness in the post on thursday so am hoping to have a little play this afternoon......Thankyou Lee-anne......

'Lets get Shabby' Challenge No 14.....

Well 2 blog posts in 2 days!!!!! Must be a record for me I think.... :-)
I wasnt sure I would have enough time to finish this challenge BUT luck was on
my side with a quiet day at work so I got to finish a little earlier..(just what I needed)...
Ok back to the challenge.  You can find all the details here : http://letsgetshabby.blogspot.com/2010/07/challenge-14_25.html ....

I chose to paint up a little canvas and was lucky enough to have picked  up a tin heart with wings in the 'junkie' shop one day which turned out to be perfect for this challenge.  I then used some rub - on's to put part of the quote that I liked and then decorated to my hearts content.  I love how this turned out.
I also made a couple of yo yo flowers and added those.
Here is what I ended up with.....

And a few close up views.....

Thanks to all at 'Lets get shabby' for another great challenge and inspiration galore....
Take care..
