Lets get Shabby........Challenge No 6......

Its that time of the month for another wonderful challenge over at 'Lets get Shabby'......Of course this months challenge is to make either a layout or something to do with Christmas......As I (along with many others) LOVE this time of year, I jumped straight in.....I have had this little chipboard stand for ages, so decided to make a little decorated canvas for it......I have a gorgeous antique wooden table in the entry and it looks just perfect on it...... I decided to just 'age' the chipboard stand a little as the colourings seemed to work perfect as it was....
I have used a printed photo that I have always loved and some old sheet 'christmas' music which I have aged even more with glimmer mist. I have also covered a brad in the same papers. The red and cream lace and the tickets are all vintage.........I have used a string of beads to frame the whole stand.........I loved doing this so once again thanks to all the DT for the inspiration.........
Here is my take.........
Thanks heaps for looking.......
Cheers....

In other news last sunday I got to spend the whole day (and half the night) with the gorgeous Melinda (beaver). We went on the train to Melbourne to attend the Melbourne 'Paperific'...What a day filled with shopping, laughing and such friendship.... thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to next year!!!!
I am up to date over at LSBS with the 52 pick up challenges.......These are my last few entries......

Challenge No 43 was Tracy's challenge and she had us using 'fabric' on our layouts.....

Challenge No 44 was from Deanne and it was an inspiration challenge.....The cup was orange and black and thats where I drew my inspiration from....
Challenge No 45 was from Tara and it had 3 requirements....1/overlapped photos 2/photo under the p/p and 3/elements on top of the photo........
Challenge No 46 from Belle was to use at least 14 different ribbons and staples....
And finally just a couple of random layouts to share......

Challenge No 5 at Lets get Shabby......

Challenge No 5 over at 'Lets get Shabby'.........
Another great and inspiring challenge.....This month the challenge is to make your own embellishments.....(loved this one!!!!)
I have just about finished making my very own album that I plan to keep all the vintage/heritage pages I have been doing......
I decided to do a 'layout' that I am actually going to use for the front cover of my new
album......(must post a piccy when its finished!!!)
So here is my layout with a hand cut/hand made picket gate that I painted then crackled BUT it
didnt work out the way I planned but I loved the effect anyways......I also made the flowers out of an old prayer/hymm book using my scalloped punches....... I have used an old 'Rexona' picture they used for ads that was on an old postcard.......Happy with the end result....
Thanks for another great challenge......
Thanks heaps for looking......
Cheers...

A productive few weeks.....

Well I have had a very productive few weeks and more than happy with what I have achieved....
A couple of weeks ago LSBS had the October CC and I managed to get 3 of the challenges completed and loved them all!!!!!
The first was the sketch challenge and the very talented Tracy certainly did it justice with her interpretation......
I loved how mine turned out too!!!!

The second challenge I completed was the Guest Designer's challenge. Tarrah did a great job and we had to use some sort of fence in our layouts. I loved this challenge too.....
The other challenge I managed to complete was the step x step challenge by Nic. It was to make a house and include this on our layout. Happy with how mine turned out....
Last weekend the gorgeous Helen held the WCMD. It was a great idea and lots of the ladies got heaps of cards made (and such beautiful ones at that!!!!)
The first challenge was to make a set of birthday cards (matching)...
Here are mine...

The second challenge was the sketch challenge and I have used this sketch many times before and love it.....I love the card I made too....

The third challenge was to make 'some' christmas cards. I made four slightly different ones for the comp then managed to almost finish all mine for christmas using the same four designs. Gotta be happy with that.....

Great weekend Helen........
Cheers and hope everyone has a great week.

Lets Get Shabby No 4 Challenge.....

Lets Get Shabby Challenge No 4.....

OMGoodness I cant believe how quickly the months are flying by....It will be christmas again before we know it....

Well the 'Lets get shabby' team have done it again with their amazing challenges they mange to come up with each month...This month DT member Julie has set the challenge and its a sketch which is just cool as........ We are to also use something vintage either in the photo or some embellishment...
I got given some old photos of mum and dad's a few weeks ago and just love this one that I have used for this challenge. It is some relation to mum BUT she is a bit unsure just who it is and on the back of the photo is only the year 1922, so I used it for my vintage part. (I have an aunty who I will be able to get some more info from regarding the photo so will finish my journalling then) . I also got given an old music book and by the looks of it it is very very vintage so have also used a page from this.
I thought the Ruby rock-it p/p's fitted perfectly so have used these with a touch of red...
I made the flower from some old lace.

This is my take on the challenge.....

Thanks for another great challenge......

Thanks heaps for looking.....

Cheers
